Not everyone who leaves school at 16 goes into
further education or work based learning. Some people move straight into a job.
If you choose this route you should consider the following:
- What does the job actually involve?
- How does this fit in with your skills and personality?
- Have you got the necessary qualifications and abilities for the job?
- How much will you earn now and in five or ten years time?
- Will you get any training?
- Will you gain any qualifications?
- Will you obtain proof of your skills?
- What prospects might there be for promotion in the future?
Details of local job and work based learning vacancies and how to
apply are advertised at Connexions Centres. We will offer information and support to young people
and forward application forms to employers.
